My Love

She was just a babe, when she felt neglected and lonely

In the comfort of the place she called home

She looked unto you, when the sun has set

Gazed at your beauty and even uttered a few words

Telling you how much she would love to explore you

Your vast and infinite space which her little brain couldn’t fathom

She dreamt of creatures in ships sailing in the air

To get her onboard and take her on a little tour

To show her what you really were and are

She grew into a teenager and started reading a lot

There were no computers in the day

Just a few books at her school library

She started reading about you in tabloids and papers

She waited to hear news of the parties your threw so

Her eyes saw some of the best shows you had at the time

Back in the 90’s when she made memoirs on her little diary

She used to make others interested in you and got them to stay up

Or wake up at the wee hours to experience all your shows

Decades have gone by and you remain same though she’s a woman

She still adores you and still wants to explore you

Once in a while she gazes at you when all is dark and quiet

Sometimes she gazes at you in the middle of great company

She spots the ISS whiz pass over her head and she thinks to herself

“Damn it ISS crew! You have no idea how much I want to be onboard it”

Her fingers are crossed and her heart is hopeful

May be one day she will get closer to you

She will truly experience what it means to explore you

And if she lives longer may be she will dive deeper in to you

That would surely be a lifetime worth living, that’s for sure!
